Knitting with Ajeng : Poyeng's Fisherman's Scarf FREE Knitting Pattern

Fisherman's Rib aka Brioche.
This is the most favorite knitting pattern, both for beginner knitter and to people who like to have a knitting scarf, fast!!

This technique will give you a ribbing illusion, but not make your knitting looks shrinking.

example of 14 cast on - scarf

Poyeng’s Fisherman’s Scarf
Patterns by : Ajeng Sitoresmi

Yarn = 1-2 ball yarn in bulky weight
Knitting Needle = 10 mm (US 15)Single Pointed Needles
Gauge = not necessary
Abbreviation = - cast on, - K = Knit, - P = Purl, - Bind off, - YO = Yarn Over, - Sl = Slip, - K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together

Pattern :
Cast On = 14 sts
Do pattern fisherman’s rib as follow:
Fisherman’s Rib =
  • Row 1 = [K1,P1] repeat until row finished
  • Row 2 = [K1, YO, Sl1] repeat until row finished – 21 sts
  • Row 3 = [(K2Tog in YO and Slip part of row before), YO, Sl1] repeat until row finished
  • Repeat row 3 until you reach the length you want
  • 1 row before BO = [(K2Tog in YO and Sl st from row before), P1] repeat until row finished – 14 sts
  • Bind Off loosely
Additional Note :
You can add tassels at every end of the scarf if you want. If you want to change the cast-on, do it in multiples of 2. You can change the size of yarn and needle as you like. Don’t forget to add the amount of cast-on if you use smaller yarn and needle.

Let's knit this addictive yet relaxing scarf with me :D
